Red Stripe Dress

Inspired by Paper Red Stripe Dress

This little dress was made for me by my mother when I was three. It was made from fabric from Liberty using a Butterick pattern.

The photographs are of me wearing it. I was born in London during the war and when I was six months old my father was called up to join the RAF and was away in India until I was four.

Communication was limited and my mother would send him photographs as I grew up. I still have this dress today and I love it because it connects me to my childhood.

I have printed the actual dress on A4 papers by feeding it and moving it section by section onto the printer.
